Non-Married
Lifestyles
The objects of this screen are the many companies
that regard an
unmarried couple living together to be the equivalent of
a married wife and husband as indicated
by providing benefits extendable
to the "domestic partners" of employees. eVALUEator makes no distinction regarding the sexual preference
represented by this relationship, but it is interesting
to note that many companies failing this
screen do not extend the same benefit to non-married
heterosexual couples. As a result, the impression of
this screen being directed at gay-friendly companies is fairly
accurate. We must stress, however, that we regard the
non-married relationship as the same, regardless of the makeup of
the "domestic partnership" in question. We believe those relationships must not be equated to
Holy matrimony.
